They say that there is nothing worse than indifference, because it kills the soul! We all appreciate people who are caring, hospitable, ready to help, sensitive and sympathetic. We want to have such friends and relatives, but this does not always happen. The indifference of people surrounds us everywhere - at work, in transport, public institutions, even hospitals. Alas, the indifference of people to each other has become more of a norm, a habit, rather than anything out of the ordinary.

An indifferent attitude towards a person is characteristic of people not only cruel and selfish, but also those who were once answered with evil for a good deed. Such people, fearing a repetition of the situation and heartache, always remain aloof from what is happening. That is why there is still a lot of violence and evil on Earth, because most people pass by cruelty, trying to turn a blind eye to everything. Be afraid of the indifferent - they do not kill and do not change, but only because of their tacit consent there is so much vice in the world!

Reasons for indifference

An indifferent attitude is often a symptom of alexithymia. People suffering from this disorder cannot understand their emotions, do not know how to show them. They are simply physically incapable of compassion, experience. These qualities lead to pragmatism, indifference, callousness. The causes of alexithymia are very different - this phenomenon can be either congenital or acquired (for example, as a post-traumatic reaction).

Highly common cause- an acute lack of affection, participation, warmth in early childhood, dislike and indifference to the child of parents. Statistics confirm that most of the indifferent adults were unloved children. Often adults deliberately teach their child to hide their feelings, "to be strong." As a result, a person grows up who is not able to love, show emotions, sympathize.

Another reason for acquired alexithymia is emotional trauma received in adolescence and young age, love experiences. A person who once experienced pain closes and can no longer trust people.

How not to become indifferent?

It is very important to remember all this and try your best not to become such a person, not to raise children indifferent to evil and injustice, not to suffer from the indifference of a husband, a loved one. From a small indifference, global indifference to people begins, growing into a cold, soulless life without joy and warmth. Nothing will comfort the heart indifferent person, everything around one day will become absolutely uninteresting and unnecessary, and this is a road to nowhere.

An indifferent attitude towards people is detrimental, first of all, to the personality itself! Scientists have already proven that callous and indifferent people live less and get sick more often, old age comes to them earlier. What is the meaning of their life? After all, we all should not only consumerly “take everything from life”, but also create, love, give each other joy, help those who need it!

How to raise an indifferent, emotionally open, kind child? Everything is quite simple - communicate with him, share feelings and experiences, watch films and cartoons about kindness and justice, read good books and discuss them.

Let's try not to become indifferent - to enjoy life, to make this world kinder, nobler, more merciful. No, we do not urge you to drop everything and go to Africa, to hungry children, or donate millions to charity. Start small - feed a stray kitten, help a lonely elderly neighbor up the stairs, call once again parents, take an interest in their health, restore with a partner ... Just become a little kinder and more sensitive, teach this to your children and, perhaps, the world will change for the better - after all, water, as you know, wears away a stone.

Unfortunately, many people live by the proverb: "My hut is on the edge - I don't know anything."

Additional material for arguments:

1) G. Troepolsky. "White Bim Black Ear"

Bim meets different people- good, evil, indifferent. Such as Tolik, Matryona, Dasha help the dog. Among people there are those who betray, poison, kill. Because of human malice, Bim suffers.

Ivan Ivanovich brought up kindness and faith in people in Bima. When the owner was taken to the hospital, the dog was faithfully waiting for him. The two felt responsible for each other because they were "tamed". Remembering the owner's attitude towards himself, Bim trustingly goes to people when Ivan Ivanovich is taken to the hospital.

2) V. Zheleznikov. "Scarecrow".

The moral lessons of the story: do not be cruel to people, to animals and plants - to all life on earth; protect your human dignity, never let anyone trample on it; you need to learn to understand people, because disappointment hurts the soul.

Lena Bessoltseva, in the difficult trials that fell on her adolescence, all the time saw her grandfather next to her, felt the strength of his character, leaned on his shoulder. Nikolai Nikolayevich helped her to survive and not to break. Lena appreciated it. Yes, old people need to be protected, listen to their advice, appreciate their experience and willingness to share the trouble loved one. This is a lesson for all of us.

The theme of the cruelty of teenagers in relation to their peers, not like everyone else. Lena Bessoltseva became the object of ridicule in the class. Her classmates staged a boycott, and then committed a terrible deed: they burned an effigy depicting a girl at the stake. Iron Button, Redhead, Shaggy and other peers of Lena, who arranged difficult trials for the girl, I think, received a lesson for life.

The heroine of the story says to her classmates: “To be honest, I feel sorry for you. Poor you, poor people." What did Lena Bessoltseva mean and is she right? Yes, right: her peers are poor not only in their way of life (lack of interests, empty pastime, primitive entertainment), but also in their spiritual qualities (rude, indifferent to someone else's misfortune, envious, cruel).

3) A. Platonov. "Unknown Flower"

This story is about a flower that grew among stones and clay. He worked hard, overcame a lot of obstacles to light up with living fire. The flower really wanted to live. It took a lot of willpower, relentless stubbornness to survive.

A. Platonov in his fairy tale claims that one must work hard in order to live and not die, in order to shine a bright fire on others and call to oneself with a silent voice the joys of life.

“Really, adults are very strange people,” we can repeat after the Little Prince. Often adults do not understand their children at all. Weren't they small themselves? Why do they not always answer children's questions, do not listen to their child?

The little Prince lived alone on a very small planet, which had only volcanoes. Every morning the hero cleaned his volcanoes, weeded the ground so that baobabs would not grow. And people, instead of maintaining order on their planet, cultivating their garden, decorating their home, wage wars, insult the beauty of life with their greed. The little prince claims that it is necessary to restore order on his planet and work every day.

The little prince goes on a journey. He finds himself on planets inhabited by a king and an ambitious man, a drunkard and a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. The hero does not linger on any of them, because he sees vices, but does not understand and does not accept them. Lust for power and ambition, drunkenness and greed, fatalism and ignorance - all this prevents people from living. Only on Earth, having met a snake, a flower and a fox, does the Little Prince learn wisdom: "Only the heart is vigilant." The hero returns to his planet, to Rose, whom he has already tamed.

This tale teaches us to be “responsible for those who have been tamed”, that only with the heart can one feel love, that a person is threatened with loneliness among the crowd, that one who has no roots is doomed to loneliness.

5) Sasha Cherny. The story on a moonlit night.

This story is about home, loneliness and happiness. All the characters, except for the children, are homeless and rootless. They lack happiness. And it is so necessary for everyone, because life is given to a person for happiness. The gardener dreams of buying back the house where he was born. Lydia Pavlovna, sitting by the sea, recalls when she was in last time crazy and just happy. But happiness is always there, you just need to be able to find it. The author leads readers to this conclusion.

The idea of the story is the pursuit of happiness, the ability to be happy in the world under the sun and moon with other people, nature.

6) K. Paustovsky. "Telegram".

“Be a man,” says Paustovsky. “Repay good for good!” We must not forget about the closest, dearest people who need your attention, care, warmth, kind words, otherwise it may be too late. This happened to the main character of the story, Nastya, who, due to the eternal bustle, lack of time to write and come, did not see her mother for three years. And Katerina Petrovna was waiting for her only daughter, but she never did. The villagers saw off the old woman on their last journey, and the daughter was late for the funeral, cried all night and left the village early (it was a shame in front of people). Nastya did not have time to ask for forgiveness from her mother.

7) A. Green. "Green lamp".

The story that a person must build his own destiny, overcoming difficulties, and not passively wait for good luck, not turn into another person's "toy". John Eve becomes a doctor at the end of the story. He managed to keep his dignity and fulfilled his dream. Yes, a person is not a toy of fate, but its creator, if he has the desire and will to achieve something, if he works and believes in himself and his strength.

Part 4 (Book by V.N. Aleksandrov and O.I. Aleksandrova "Encyclopedia of Arguments")

By creating this book, we wanted to help students successfully pass the unified state exam in the Russian language. In the process of preparing for the essay, a seemingly strange circumstance became clear at first glance: many high school students cannot substantiate this or that thesis with any examples. Television, books, newspapers, information from school textbooks, all this mighty flow of information should, as it were, provide the student with necessary material. Why does the hand of the writing essay helplessly freeze in the place where it is necessary to argue a personal position?

The problems that a student experiences when trying to substantiate this or that statement are rather caused not by the fact that he does not know some information, but by the fact that he cannot apply the information he knows in the right way. There are no arguments "from birth", the statement acquires the function of an argument when it proves or refutes the truth or falsity of the thesis. An argument in an essay on the Unified State Examination in the Russian language acts as a certain semantic part that follows after some statement (everyone knows the logic of any proof: theorem - justification - conclusion),

In a narrow sense - in relation to the essay on the exam, an example should be considered an argument, which is designed in a certain way and occupies an appropriate place in the composition of the text.

An example is a fact or special case, used as a starting point for a subsequent generalization or to reinforce a generalization made.

The example is not just a fact, but typical fact, i.e., a fact that reveals a certain trend, serving as the basis for a certain generalization. The typing function of the example explains its widespread use in argumentation processes.

In order for an example to be perceived not as a separate statement representing some information, but as an argument, it must be arrange composition: it must occupy a subordinate position in the semantic hierarchy in relation to the affirmed, serve as material for the deduced provisions.

Our encyclopedia of arguments contains several thematic headings, each of which is divided into the following sections:

1. Problems

2. Approving theses that need to be substantiated

3. Quotes (they can be used both to expand the introduction and to create the final part of the essay)

4. Examples that can be used to argue the general thesis.

Perhaps someone will be confused by the obvious identity of the arguments from different thematic headings. But after all, any social problem, ultimately, comes down to a naked confrontation between good and evil, life and death, and these universal categories draw into their orbit all the diversity of human manifestations. Therefore, speaking, for example, about the need to protect nature, we must also talk about love for the motherland and the moral qualities of a person.

Indifference is indifference, a cold-blooded attitude to the need and troubles that have arisen in someone's life. The manifestation of indifference is described as the main evil of our time and the reaction to it must be immediate, since this phenomenon, unfortunately, takes root in our environment. Indifference borders on insensitivity, apathy and becomes a common problem, and this can provoke negative consequences in a person’s life. Moving away from the problems of strangers, we try to protect ourselves according to the rule: if I don’t see a problem, it simply doesn’t exist.

What is indifference

Considering the phenomenon of indifference, one must take into account that the choice of the individual is fully realized, this is a complete avoidance of taking part in any actions that do not concern him. This is either a refusal to help, or an inability to show support and compassion at the moment. emergency to help people. First of all, it encourages this behavior before obligations. The result of an invasion of the vital activity of outsiders may be unwanted reactions, and the goodness shown by you sincerely and disinterestedly may turn against you. But there are always risks, making any decision, we are responsible for the future consequences. So is it worth it to reject people who need us?

Experiencing the indifference shown by others to us, we experience grief and stop believing in humanity, it is not easy then to trust again what to talk about helping others when we ourselves did not receive it in time. By refusing to help, remaining indifferent, we run the risk of experiencing a sense of guilt over time, which will leave a detrimental imprint on our lives. Why carry the burden of guilt with you? When there is an opportunity to do good and live with faith that everything possible has been done.

However, indifference can occur in absolutely everyone, regardless of character and values. The reason for this behavior sometimes becomes banal boredom. Boredom can cause a sluggish depressive state, experiencing it, the individual does not have the necessary amount of internal resources to show assistance in the problems of others. To overcome boredom, a business that you will be doing separately from work or study will help, to find a business that has become an outlet and will begin to fill you with positive energy and strength, it is very important. This is due to age, so you can look for a kind of activity that will bring happiness at any period of life, as well as change it in the future.

Human behavior as a social being is strictly regulated by a certain number of hereditary factors. The interaction of the subject with society is a reflection of its features.

To raise a caring person, parents should talk with their child about the manifestation of indifference in life, give examples, discuss various situations and discuss how compassion, mutual assistance and understanding can be shown. Track the manifestation of indifference in your child, perhaps by analyzing his interests and hobbies. If there are none, it is advisable to start looking for a favorite activity together, because responsiveness to people is possible when a person develops harmoniously in all areas.

Reasons for indifference

Where does indifference come from, what exactly caused it to develop in people? There are factors after which the subject decides to be deaf and blind in certain situations. Let's look at some of the reasons. A prolonged feeling of stress and anxiety makes a person emotionally exhausted and incapable of additional experiences. Such individuals are characterized by apathy and passivity.

The next reason for the emergence of indifference is sticking to one's own problems, an unshakable belief that others simply cannot have something that is worth paying attention to. All other people's problems are leveled and depreciated, and the person himself is inclined to the constant position of the victim and expects pity and support only for himself. Most often people who are indifferent do not see themselves as such, even more, many of them are quite sure that they are soft and sympathetic.

Also, a large number of experienced misfortunes can make any person more rigid and detached from other people's troubles. Although, it would seem, on the contrary, the one who has experienced such a situation is best able to show responsiveness, unfortunately this is not always the case.

Our psyche tends to protect us from repeating traumatic situations that once happened, so a person, as it were, moves away from everything that reminds him of what he experienced. But this happens on, consciously, the person is sure that he is absolutely not interested in delving into other people's affairs. And sometimes, there are circumstances in which a person who has not had such sad situations is simply not able to feel the grief of others. But a similar reaction is most often characteristic of adolescents, when childish naivete and all-encompassing love have passed, and life experience still not enough to adequately assess the current situation.

In addition to the described global reasons, there are situational reasons when a person was simply confused and could not provide help right away, felt bad and did not react properly. Do not rush to condemn others in anything, do not bear the burden of resentment, learn to forgive and give others the opportunity to improve.

What is the danger of indifference

Consider the dangers of indifference. Indifference and responsiveness are opposite concepts in their meaning. If responsiveness can positively affect a person, renew hope for a solution, give strength, then human indifference pushes us to despair and impotence in the face of the wall of troubles that have arisen.

Indifference, a phenomenon that destroys our society, the indifference of one, with highly likely will affect everyone around. A child who notices indifference in the relationship of parents adopts their model of behavior and in similar situations will behave in the same way. An adult who has felt the indifference of others may one day not help another, feeling resentment, experienced inattention from loved ones and society as a whole.

How often society looks through such global social problems as children abandoned without attention of adults, assault in families, weakness and defenselessness of the elderly. What would happen if we found the strength to solve problems that affected not only our interests? It is likely that there would be less evil that we meet day after day absolutely everywhere.

At the moment of appearance of indifference, humanity loses the ability to empathize, the connection with morality is lost, which, in principle, defines us as a person. These people are filled more with negativity, envy, inability to share not only the suffering of others, but also joy. It is also difficult for such people to show love, inside they can experience this incomprehensible feeling to them, but outwardly they can repel a loved one or even offend. And it all turns into an inextricable circle. A person who does not know how to show love is unlikely to cause a feeling of love in others, this, in turn, will have an even greater impact on his life and lead to loneliness, because it will be very difficult to maintain even ordinary communication with such a person, not that to build a strong family.

Please note that you do not need to take other people's problems too closely into your heart. This is the cause of depression, sadness, emotional instability. Sympathy is wonderful, but even in this feeling there should be boundaries, you should not live with other people's problems. It is very easy to show participation and support, often it is the usual things: help a young mother with a stroller, tell a grandmother with poor eyesight the bus number, help a lost child find their parents, or help a person who feels unwell.

We are often in a hurry, not paying attention to what is happening around us, although sometimes just a minute of our time can cost a person a life. The famous writer Bruno Jasensky in his novel “The Conspiracy of the Indifferent” wrote: “Do not be afraid of your friends - in the worst case, they may betray you, do not be afraid of your enemies - in the worst case, they will try to kill you, but beware of the indifferent - only with their silent blessing there are betrayals and murders on the Earth.

Positive emotions make our life bright and full, try to notice more good things around, show more compassion and help, respond to people with kindness.

Each new generation is obliged to develop through the accumulation of social experience. The interaction of the individual with social environment is a process of demands and expectations from both sides. A person is guided by the skills and abilities acquired through direct relationships in social groups. Therefore, having freed ourselves from the burden of resentment and accumulated claims against others, we will free ourselves from such qualities as indifference, indifference and callousness. Give the world good, and the world will definitely give it to you three times over!

Speaker of the Medical and Psychological Center "PsychoMed"

Direction "Indifference and responsiveness."

Indifference is indifference to everything that surrounds us, lack of interest in the problems of society, in eternal human values, indifference to one's own fate and to the fate of other people, the absence of any emotions in relation to anything. A.P. Chekhov once said: “Indifference is a paralysis of the soul, premature death.” But why is such an attitude to life really so dangerous?

Anger, like love, like confusion, like fear and shame, shows a person’s interest in anything, emotions become an indicator of vital energy, and therefore a blush coming to the cheeks is always valued more than a lifeless, cold pallor and an indifferent, empty look. . Slightly noticeable at first glance, manifestations of indifference to what is happening invariably develop into apathy, and as a result, lead to the degradation of the individual. In the story of A.P. Chekhov "Ionych", the author, together with the reader, traces the path of a person from whom the Vital energy and evaporated spirituality. Describing each stage from the biography of the hero, A.P. Chekhov emphasizes with what swiftness indifference penetrated Startsev's life and left a definite mark on it. From an outstanding personality and a promising doctor, the hero slowly but surely turned into a screaming at his own patients, a gambling, greedy, stout man in the street, not noticing the passage of time. For the once energetic and lively hero, only his money was now of exceptional importance, he stopped noticing the suffering of people, looked at the world with dryness and selfishness, in other words, he became indifferent to everything, including himself, which led to inevitable degradation. .

We all live in a society and depend on each other - such is the nature of man. That is why the indifference of each individual leads to the indifference of the whole society. In other words, a whole system is formed, an organism that destroys itself. Such a society is described by F.M. Dostoevsky in the novel Crime and Punishment. The main character, Sonya Marmeladova, at the level of need, felt the importance of self-sacrifice and helping people. Looking at the indifference of those around her, she, on the contrary, tried to help everyone in need and do everything in her power. Perhaps if Sonya hadn’t helped Rodion Raskolnikov cope with her moral torments, if she hadn’t instilled faith in him, if she hadn’t saved her family from starvation, then the novel would have had an even more tragic ending. But the indifference of the heroine became a ray of light in the gloomy and damp Petersburg of Dostoevsky. It is terrible to imagine how the novel would have ended if it had not had such a pure and bright hero as Sonya Marmeladova.

It seems to me that if every person takes his eyes off his problems, starts looking around and doing good deeds, the whole world will shine with happiness. Indifference is dangerous because in any case it carries darkness with it, it is the antithesis of happiness, joy and goodness.

Essay on text

“Indifference is a paralysis of the soul,” wrote the famous Russian writer A.P. Chekhov. Indeed, spiritual callousness is sometimes more painful than anger, hatred, cruelty.

Before me is a fragment from the story of K.G. Paustovsky "Telegram", in which, in my opinion, the author also raises the problem of people's indifference to each other.

The author reveals it on the example of the relationship between Nastya and her mother, Katerina Ivanovna. The writer draws the reader's attention to the fact that the old mother loves her daughter and dreams of petting her for the last time. But the author notes with bitterness that Nastya left the person closest to her (“How Katerina Ivanovna lived ... no one knows”). K.G. Paustovsky, condemns Nastya's behavior, and therefore does not indicate the reasons why she does not visit her mother. And the landscape description of the autumn garden creates a symbolic image of a cold and dark world in which the light of human love has died out. Bitterness and regret are heard in the words of the narrator: “I carefully led her home and thought: how happy I would be if I had such a mother!” Depicting the warm attitude of the hero-narrator to Katerina Ivanovna, the author emphasizes at the end of the text that living, loving parents are happiness!

It is impossible not to agree with the opinion of the writer. We should be kinder and more attentive to each other, respond to someone else's pain and misfortune, take care of our loved ones and relatives. Whatever the parents, children should not leave them in trouble. Russian literature has repeatedly addressed this problem.

Princess Marya Bolkonskaya from L.N. Tolstoy "War and Peace" loves, respects his father and takes care of him until his death, although the old prince has a bad temper. He can say a taunt to his daughter, does not always trust her, threatens to read a friend's letter, imposes on her the study of mathematics so unloved by her. But more important for the daughter is the father's love for her, and not these particular manifestations of her, which she is ready to forgive.

But the other daughter - the heroine of the story " Stationmaster» A.S. Pushkin - had the good fortune to have a soft-hearted and gentle father. However, her fatal passion for the hussar makes her commit cruelty - she secretly runs away from home without receiving the blessing of her parent and without telling him anything about herself. The father, distraught with grief, becomes an inveterate drunkard and dies, and the daughter appears only on his grave.

Reading the sad lines of K.G. Paustovsky, you begin to think about how important it is not to repeat the mistakes of Katerina Ivanovna’s daughter yourself, about the need to always, no matter what, find time for your parents, give them your love and attention, and also about the fact that you can’t pass past someone else's misfortune. Attention, sympathy, compassion - that's what can save us, people, from the cold of the soul.

Text by K.G. Paustovsky:

(1) Katerina Ivanovna never complained about anything, except for senile weakness.

(2) But I knew from a neighbor and from the stupid kind old man Ivan Dmitriev, the watchman at the fire shed, that Katerina Ivanovna was alone in the world. Katerina Ivanovna has a few. (4) An hour is not even, and she will die without seeing her daughter, without caressing her, without stroking her blond hair of “charming beauty” (as Katerina Ivanovna spoke of them).

(5) Nastya sent money to Katerina Ivanovna, but even that happened intermittently. (6) No one knows how Katerina Ivanovna lived during these breaks.

(7) Once Katerina Ivanovna asked me to take her to the garden, where she had not been since early spring, weakness did not let her.
(8) - My dear, - said Katerina Ivanovna, - you won’t exact from me, from the old one.

(9) I want to remember the past, finally see the garden. (10) In it, as a girl, I read Turgenev. (11) Yes, and I planted some trees myself.

(12) She dressed for a very long time. (13) She put on an old warm cloak, a warm scarf and, holding tightly to my hand, slowly descended from the porch.

(14) It was already evening. (15) The garden flew around. (16) Fallen leaves prevented walking. (17) They crackled loudly and moved underfoot, a star lit up in the green dawn. (18) Far above the forest hung the sickle of the month.
(19) Katerina Ivanovna stopped near a weather-beaten linden tree, leaned her hand on it and cried.

(20) I held her tightly so that she would not fall. (21) She cried like very old people, not ashamed of her tears.

(22) “God forbid you, my dear,” she told me, “live to such a lonely old age!” (23) God forbid!

(24) I carefully led her home and thought: how happy I would be if I had such a mother!

(According to K.G. Paustovsky)
