Our ancestors chose for themselves the most convenient places for settlements from the point of view of not only geographical factors, but also geophysical (primarily a constant influx of energy flows that stimulate both physical and mental development of people). The energy of the Earth awakened in some people hidden, as they say now, psychic abilities. Some of them became "visionaries" who helped the rulers make the only right decision that contributed to the prosperity of the state. Once upon a time, about 200 million years ago, the Earth was like that. There were no oceans. There were shallow seas, the bottom of which was of the same continental type.
So much water as now, 200 million years ago, there was no on Earth. When the substance of the mantle rises to the surface of the Earth and transforms into the earth's crust, it degasses and dehydrates. Gases replenish the atmosphere and water replenishes the ocean. About 10% of the mantle's substance is water. When a certain area of ​​oceanic crust is formed, so much water is released from the substance of the mantle 10 km thick that it covers this area with a layer about 3 km thick. Thus, simultaneously with the increase in the area of ​​the oceanic crust, the increase in the water column of the oceans also occurs.
The continents are ancient, and the oceans, their bottom and water, arose geologically recently. But the Earth grew even before the appearance of oceans on it, although more slowly. During the pre-oceanic stage of the Earth's growth, the continental-type crust simply thinned without the release of mantle matter to the Earth's surface. The zones of crustal extension only led to a decrease in the relief. This depression, surrounded on almost all sides by hills, quickly filled with sediment, sand and clay. The thickness of the sedimentary layers reached tens of kilometers. At depth, these sediments turned into solid, not loose, rock. These thick crystallized and cemented sedimentary rocks increased the area of ​​the continental crust.
On all continents there are so-called. the cores of very ancient rocks, to which, like rings on a cut of a tree trunk, rings and lenses of the continental crust of younger ages adjoin, indicating a gradual increase in the area of ​​the globe in the pre-oceanic period of the growth of the Earth. For the first time, 200 million years ago, the growth rate of the Earth reaches such a value that the rate of increase in the area of ​​the continental crust became less than the rate of increase in the area of ​​the Earth. In the region of the current Pacific Ocean, the substance of the Earth's mantle rises to the surface for the first time.
From this moment begins the oceanic stage of the growth of the Earth. A global system of the so-called. mid-ocean ridges, in which the old earth's crust diverges to the sides, and the mantle material comes out directly to the surface of the Earth, degasses, dehydrates and freezes, forming a strip new cortex along this ridge.

In the last 50 years of the last century, several prominent physicists, such as Dirac, Jordan, Dicke, Ivanenko and Saggitov, expressed the view that the gravitational quantity decreases with time, and this leads to a natural expansion of the planet.
