Order of the Department of Education of the city of Moscow dated 09.03.2017 No. 52r “On recommended vacation periods”:

Holidays are an unusually “tasty” and pleasant topic for discussion. Children (and parents too - to be honest!) are waiting for them almost from the first day of school. Therefore, it will not be superfluous to discuss what the school holidays will be like in the 2017-2018 academic year even in the midst of hot summer days.
All vacations of the 2017-2018 academic year will, as before, be regulated by the Ministry of Education. Rather, the Ministry of Education makes recommendations, and it is up to the school to follow them or not. As a rule, this issue is resolved at the beginning of the year at the School Council and fixed by order of the director. The choice largely depends on the internal routine of the educational institution, namely: in quarters or trimesters, there is training in one or another alma mater.
Now a little more specific.

Holidays at school 2017-2018 academic year: autumn, winter, spring

Autumn holidays 2017from October 29 to November 6, 2017
For those who study in trimesters, autumn will give a short rest twice: from 2 to 8 October And from 13 to 19 November 2017.

New Year holidays we have in common: all schoolchildren have a rest for two weeks, regardless of whether they study in quarters or trimesters. December 31, 2017 to January 10, 2018 students will be completely free.

Additional holidays - February 18 - February 25 - are provided for students in grade 1, and in some cases for grades 2-4 in agreement with the governing bodies at the local level.

With modular training mode the school holidays schedule for 2017-2018 is somewhat different from the traditional one. Vacation periods:
October 1 – October 8, 2017
November 5 – November 12, 2017
December 31 - January 10, 2018
February 18 – February 25, 2018
April 8 – April 15, 2018

The end of the school year in the "traditional" school is scheduled for May, 23rd(or May 26 if there were additional holidays during the year)

It should be clarified that the Order is advisory in nature, and the timing of the holidays in each particular school may vary slightly.

How is the school holiday calendar formed?

So, if the school studies in quarters, the children rest 4 times a year:
Autumn: 9 days in the last week of October and the first week of November (including holidays)
In winter: the last days of December and 10 days in January - a total of 14 days.
Spring: last 7 days of March
Summer: three summer months
For first-graders and students of correctional classes, an additional winter week of vacation is provided.
If an educational institution is engaged in trimesters, then students will study for 5 weeks and rest for 1 week. With the exception of the New Year holidays - they are the same for everyone.

However, I repeat: the school has the right to adjust the rest time itself, therefore, vacation periods may vary in different cities and in different schools. Of course, if the school is private, then it decides this issue absolutely independently and has the right not to be guided by the recommendations of the Ministry of Education. The vacation time of such schools may differ significantly from public schools.
I would like to wish everyone a good rest, but I wish you good work, because whoever is in harmony with difficulty is not in dispute with rest. Right?

By the way, for planning a vacation - a calendar

The time for the holidays is chosen by the school administration on its own, but at the same time adheres to the recommendations established by the Ministry of Education.

Some schools have different vacation times. This is due to the type of education that is conducted in a particular school. In some schools, children study in quarters, and in others, in trimesters.

Vacation Features

Schoolchildren studying in quarters annually rest in the same periods:

  • Autumn. Nine-day holidays - the last week of October and the first of November.
  • Winter. 2 weeks of New Year holidays.
  • Spring. Final week of March.
  • Summer. All summer period.

First-graders have one more week of rest in winter, as they need more time for rest due to their age.

In the trimester type of training, everything is simpler. Pupils go to classes for 5 weeks and then rest for a week. The exception is the New Year holidays, which do not depend on the type of training.

Autumn break period

After the summer, it is hard for children to get involved in their studies, and they are looking forward to the onset of the rest period.

School holidays, the most long-awaited, come in the 2016-2017 academic year during deciduous time - in the fall. There is one public holiday per week of rest (November 4), so the children will start resting at the end of October.

School education will start on 7.11.2016.

For those who study according to the trimester type, the rest will take place as many as two times:

  • 10.2016-12.10.2016;
  • 10.2016-24.10.2016.

Don't forget that some teachers give homework during the holidays. Come to school with the appropriate preparation.

Winter break period

Pupils are waiting for the New Year with a special desire. After all, this is not only the arrival of Santa Claus with gifts, but also a break from lessons and daily homework.

Holidays during the coldest time of the year divide the school year in half. At this time, students together with their parents spend holidays together at home or go on vacation. The winter break period is the same in all schools. It lasts 2 weeks.

According to the provisions of the Federal Law No. 273-FZ "On Education in the Russian Federation" dated December 29, 2012, school holidays are planned periods provided for students to relax. This time is also recommended to be used for various activities (excursions, hikes) and participation of children in educational programs.

According to the provisions of the Federal Law No. 273-FZ "On Education in the Russian Federation" dated December 29, 2012, school holidays are planned periods provided for students to relax. This time is also recommended to be used for various activities (excursions, hikes) and participation of children in educational programs. The long-term practice of establishing 4 types of holidays - for each season - continues to be successfully applied today. However, the regular amendments to the Law on Education as part of the ongoing educational reform may be designed to somewhat change the established system.

Today, in the Russian Federation, the practice of establishing periods of school holidays by educational institutions themselves is being tested. At the same time, the assignment of this issue to the competence of schools provides for the provision of recommendatory terms by officials. Thus, legislators plan to evaluate their own methods for calculating and establishing optimal terms for study and rest, correlating them with modern learning conditions. Thus, Russian schools do not receive a mandatory schedule of school holidays, and paragraph 6 of Part 3 of Art. 28 of the law allows the heads of educational institutions to independently set their terms (with the exception of Moscow schools).

It will be possible to say about the pros and cons of such an innovation after a while, however, one serious drawback is already being actively discussed by both parents and the expert community: the lack of a single schedule for all schools makes useless activities carried out by the traffic police and aimed at reducing schoolchildren's injuries (before the program "Attention , children!” were traditionally held on the days of holidays common to all).

School holidays in quarters and trimesters

Specialists from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation annually bring recommendations to the heads of educational institutions on vacation periods. For the 2017-2018 school year, the following schedule is proposed for schools operating under the traditional quarter scheme:

  • autumn holidays - 10/28/2017-11/6/2017;
  • winter holidays - 12/25/2017-01/09/2018;
  • spring break - 24.03.2018-2.04.2018;
  • summer holidays - 25.05.2018-1.09.2018

School holidays for first grade students are recommended by the Ministry to be supplemented with another 9-day period - from February 17, 2017 to February 26, 2017. As in the case of the main schedule, schools have the right to independently make decisions on establishing basic and additional school holidays.

The growing popularity of the modular training regime, which provides for a "5 + 1" schedule (five weeks of study, one week of rest), is mostly practiced in the capital's school institutions. For them, officials also developed their own recommendations and proposed to establish rest days in the following periods:

  • October 7, 2017 - October 15, 2017;
  • 11/18/2017 - 11/26/2017;
  • December 30, 2017 - January 9, 2018;
  • February 17, 2018 - February 25, 2018;
  • 04/07/2018 - 04/15/2018;
  • May 25, 2018 – September 1, 2018

When scheduling vacations, specialists adhere to several unspoken rules that are designed to create a more convenient schedule for study and rest. As a rule, the last Monday of the month is chosen as the first day of the next vacation, which allows:

  • "capture" the weekend, thereby increasing the period of rest for schoolchildren;
  • do not “break” weeks and avoid short-term (2-3-day) study periods;
  • provide teachers with a more comfortable schedule for writing curricula.

Autumn holidays 2019

In the current academic year, schoolchildren from most educational institutions in the country will be offered a vacation in the fall from October 28 to November 6. This period included 4 official days off at once, which will provide an excellent respite for teachers.

New Year's winter holidays in 2019

In the 2017-2018 school year, students are encouraged to offer 2 weeks of rest for the New Year holidays. Moreover, due to joining the weekend, this period will be not 14, but 16 days and, as is customary, it will capture not only the New Year, but also Christmas. This period also coincides with the big “holidays” provided for by the official production calendar, which means that parents of schoolchildren will have the opportunity to relax with their children. Recall that for first graders this academic year, additional vacations should be provided - approximately from February 17 to February 26, 2019.

Spring school holidays in 2019

Like the autumn holidays, in the spring schoolchildren will also be able to rest for 9 days in a row - from 03/24/2018 to 04/02/2018. In addition, the total number of school days at this time of the year will be reduced due to additional days off caused by public holidays. As a result, you will not have to attend school:

  • March 8,
  • 1st of May,
  • May 8-9.

Summer school holidays

Summer is traditionally completely at the disposal of schoolchildren, and in the current academic year, most of them will go on vacation from May 25. For some, the first days of summer vacation will be associated with exams, or even with a graduation holiday. But one thing is invariable: students in grades 1-10 will have to start studying only after 97 days of rest - on September 1.

Autumn holidays for schoolchildren in 2019

The recommended dates for the autumn holidays of the 2017-2018 academic year will be communicated to the heads of Russian educational institutions in the spring of 2019. Following the generally accepted method of establishing a period of autumn rest, it can be assumed that the holidays will last from October 28 to November 5.

For the best organization of study, recreation and leisure of children, school holidays are provided. The Ministry of Education annually approves the tentative schedule of their holding. The management of educational institutions sets its own training schedule for 2017-2018, taking into account the adopted system for obtaining knowledge.

Holidays in quarters

The most popular method of school education is the division of the year into 4 quarters. After the end of each schedule, rest is provided. In doing so, the following factors are taken into account:

  • Summer holidays for elementary grades begin on May 24th. According to the schedule, the rest of the students will finish their studies on May 31, 2019, for graduates - after passing the exams.
  • The public holiday National Unity Day falls on Sunday, so the duration of the rest in the fall is increased.
  • Winter holidays for schoolchildren coincide with New Year's holidays for parents.

Pupils will have additional respite time due to official holidays - 23 February, 8-9 March, 30.04-02.05, 09.05. With such a system of school education in 2017-2018, according to the calendar, the autumn rest for children will be 8 days, winter - 13, and spring holidays at school will last 9 days. The following preliminary schedule of training and rest is provided:

Holidays for schoolchildren

Fourth

System 5/1 (Modular)

The management of some educational institutions organizes the school process according to the principles of a modular system. The schedule in this case provides classes for 5-6 weeks and 7 days of rest. At the same time, autumn holidays and winter holidays are held twice. An approximate schedule for 2017-2018 will look like this:

Study period

School break

1 autumn

2 autumn

Vacation schedule by trimester

The regions of Russia, educational institutions in Moscow and individual cities independently choose the concept of study. One of the options that the director of a school or gymnasium can organize with the support of the parent committee is the education of children according to the trimester system. The academic year is divided into three parts, each of which includes two modules. The school holidays schedule for 2017-2018 in this case may be as follows:

Period of study

Children's holidays

1 trimester

Autumn 1

Autumn 2

2 trimester

New Year's

3rd trimester

spring

Holidays for first graders

In the second half of the school year, first-graders find it difficult to cope with school workloads. For them, the schedule provides for an additional period of rest. According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Education, taking into account the public holiday on February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day, the first classes can still rest from 18 to 25 February.

Additional holidays in 2017-2018 academic year

It is difficult to create a unified school schedule, how children will study and relax in 2017-2018. There may be deviations from the recommended dates.

It is important that changes made to the schedule do not increase the duration of the absence of the educational process by more than 14 days.

In this case, it will be difficult to catch up with the program. The additional rest period may be due to the following factors:

  • quarantine due to illness;
  • low temperatures in winter;
  • natural disasters;
  • spring floods;
  • squally winds;
  • building safety issues;
  • utility accidents.

School holidays schedule for the 2017-2018 academic year

The decision on when to dismiss schoolchildren on vacation in Russia is made by the educational institution itself. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education, the duration of vacations, their start and end dates are determined by the school. Only the total duration of study and vacation periods is regulated, allowing children to cope with the curriculum without "overloads":

  • the academic year for first-graders should last at least 33 weeks, for students of other classes - at least 34;

  • the period of summer rest for children is at least 8 weeks;

  • short vacations within the school year must total at least 30 days, and first grade students are allowed an extra week.

Despite the given freedom of choice, most Russian educational institutions adhere to the traditional scheme that developed back in Soviet times when approving the vacation schedule: four quarters, a week of rest in November, two for the New Year holidays, another week at the end of March. Regional departments of education usually send out recommended vacation dates in advance of the start of the school year, but the final decision remains with the school administration.

Moscow is an exception. Here, vacation dates are the same and are set by the Metropolitan Department of Education for two options for the study schedule - traditional (quarter) and trimester (modular), when the year is divided into equal intervals and five weeks are followed by one vacation.

In the regions, the dates may vary slightly, but the vast majority of schools, gymnasiums and lyceums will have the same curriculum.

School year start and end dates

2017-2018 academic year traditionally starts September 1, on the Day of Knowledge. This year, the first week of school will be very short - the first day of autumn falls on the calendar on Friday, so that students will have the opportunity to smoothly move from rest to study.

The end date of the school year may be slightly shifted due to the peculiarities of the academic schedule. Primary grades will be the first to leave for the summer holidays - their school year will end May 22-24. Middle and high school students will study for a few days longer, for them the last day of school will be May 25-26. In Moscow schools that have chosen a modular mode of study, high school students will sit at their desks the longest - until the 31st.

9th and 11th grade students taking final exams will be exempted from study hassle in accordance with their exam schedule. The Unified State Examination and the OGE will begin in the last week of May and will run until the end of June.

graduation parties most will pass during the period from 23 to 25 May(they are not recommended to be held on June 22, on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow), but if a student takes any exams on reserve days, his exam marathon can continue even after receiving a certificate.

Fall break dates 2017

According to a long tradition, the autumn holidays in schools are held the first week of November. In Soviet times, they were "combined" with the celebration of the anniversary of the October Revolution, but now they fall on National Unity Day, celebrated on November 4th. In 2017, the holiday will be a Saturday, and due to the postponement of the holiday to Monday, November 6, adults will have a three-day mini-vacation. For schoolchildren, these days, of course, will also be "time off" - an additional day of rest will be "added" to the usual weekly duration of the November holidays.

In most Russian schools, the autumn holidays - 2017 will be held according to the following schedule:

  • duration - 8-9 days;

  • official start– October 30 (Monday) or the previous Sunday;

  • last day of rest– October 6 (Monday) or October 7 (Tuesday).

Winter holidays schedule at school in 2017-2018 academic year

The middle of the school year will traditionally be marked by a two-week period of winter rest timed to coincide with the celebration of the New Year and Christmas. This is perhaps the most significant vacation of the school year. If only because the January holiday decade in Russia is the only time when both adults and children at the same time get rid of daily troubles for a long time and can plan quite long trips with the whole family. Therefore, it is especially important to find out the exact timing of the winter holidays in schools.

By tradition, schoolchildren are allowed to rest 3-4 days before the New Year, and they go “to the machine” almost simultaneously with adults - either on the same day or the next, and the period of the all-Russian weekend completely “fits” into children's holidays.

In the winter of 2017-2018, the “typical” school vacation schedule will be as follows:

  • duration - 14 days;

  • first day of rest– December 28 (Thursday);

  • last day of vacation– January 10 (Wednesday).

Additional holidays for first grade students - 2018

The third quarter is the longest and usually the most difficult for students. To "unload" the smallest, in February, first-grade students are given an extra week of rest. In addition, the February holidays are recommended for students of correctional schools, and in some educational institutions even the entire “primary school” can rest in February - from 1 to.

The timing of additional vacations is the most variable, in some regions they are preferred to be held at the beginning of February, and in some - at the end of the month, on the week when Defender of the Fatherland Day is celebrated.

In 2018, the first classes will rest for either a week from 5 to 11 February(this option may be the most common), or from the 17th to the 25th.

School Spring Break Schedule 2018

The date for which spring break is “aspiring” is April 1. In the fourth quarter usually began on this day. In 2018, the first day of April will be Sunday. And in most schools, the rest schedule will be like this:

  • duration - 8-9 days,

  • vacation start– March 24 (Saturday) or March 25 (Sunday);

  • last day of rest- April 1 (Sunday).

In some schools, the schedule may be shifted a week ahead, and students will rest a week later, April 1st to 8th.

Official vacation schedule for Moscow schools: traditional and trimester (modular) learning modes

In the capital, vacation dates for the 2017-2018 academic year are dictated by a special order from the city's Department of Education. It was signed on 03/09/2017.

In accordance with the order in schools where children study By, holidays will be announced:

  • in October- from 1 to 8 number;

  • In November- from 5 to 12 (in fact, children will start resting a day earlier, November 4 is a general day off);

  • on New Year's holidays– from December 31 to January 10;

  • in February– from 18 to 25;

  • in April- from the 8th to the 15th.

In educational institutions of Moscow, working according to the "classical" system four quarters, the following vacation periods will be established:

  • autumn - from October 29 to November 6;

  • winter - from December 31 to January 10;

  • additional February– from 18 to 25 February;

  • spring - from 1 to 8 April.

How to find out the exact vacation dates for a child

Since the final decision on vacation dates is made by the school management, the dates of their start or end in different educational institutions may not coincide with the “average” schedule.

There are several ways to find out the vacation schedule at your school.

  1. Go to the official website of the school. By law, all "calendar" information must be contained there. As a rule, it is located in the "Organization of the educational process" or "Schedule" section.

  2. Look into the child. Vacation schedules may be posted in the announcement or parent information sections. But even if this is not the case, you can try to "scroll" the magazine for the period of the proposed vacation and "calculate" the exact dates - no lessons will be scheduled for them;

  3. Ask your child's class teacher. The schedule is usually approved in the summer, sometimes even earlier. By the time the school “roll calls” are held, teachers usually already have this information.

  4. Call the reception and check the vacation dates with the secretary of the educational institution.
