Good day, dear readers. In this post I want to tell you about some interesting and unusual magical things in Skyrim. These things are "talents" and "active effects". I will tell you very briefly about the passage of quests related to them, since everything is simple there. As usual, there are a lot of spoilers. So let's get started.

active effects.

1) "Blessing of the Dragonslayer". The effect is temporary. It is issued by Blades archivist Esbern, whom you will meet during the main quest.

Dragon crit chance increased by 10% for 5 days. So the effect is temporary.

2) Three more effects that will become available during the main quest. Paarthurnax will tell you.

Breath of Fire shout deals 25% more damage.

- "Immortal Spirit". This effect is manifested when the Shout "Incorporeality" is active.

Health regenerates 25% faster while Shout is active.

3) "Ancient Knowledge". You get the effect when you return the dictionary to the pedestal in Avanchnzel. The quest "From the Depths" is given to you by the Argonian From the Deepest Depths in Riften Docks. She asks to return the cube (dictionary) to the Dwemer city. Return - get the effect.

You get a 25% bonus when wearing Dwemer armor (in patch 1.3, all armor in general), and your blacksmithing skill grows 15% faster.

4) "Dibella's Chosen One". Having broken into the temple of Dibella in Markarth (into its inner sanctuary) in order to steal a statue (also a quest, given by a peasant in a tavern), a priestess starts a conversation with you. If you agree to find and deliver to the temple a little girl (the new priestess of Dibella), you will be forgiven for your intrusion into the sanctuary. Find, return, get the effect.

Damage to the opposite sex in combat increased (by 10%, in melee).

5) "Sailor's Rest". After completing the murder quest at the Frostbeacon, you find the "Remains of Khabd" (in the belly of a Corus Reaper). These remains are to be set ablaze at the top of the Rime Beacon. Burned - we get the effect.

6) "Mara's Chosen One". You get this effect by completing the quest "The Book of Love". It can be taken from the priestess in the temple of Mara in Riften. The quest is easy, but you have to run around Skyrim and Riften. You will need to talk a lot.

+15% magic resistance.

7) "Sinderion's Surprise". In Blackreach, you will find the laboratory of the alchemist Sinderion. Read the magazine, then everything is clear. Crimson Nirn Roots grow quite thickly in PE, not just near water. But with the last five you will have to sweat. Take the roots to the farm, get the books and the effect.

25% chance to create a second of the same potion when practicing alchemy.

8) "Full set of nightingale armor". The effect is obtained by wearing (surprise!) a full set of Nightingale armor. Separately, they also provide some effects that are not so unique. You get armor during the passage of the Thieves Guild quest (not even at the end), but you will get the effect only at the end.

A full set of Dark Brotherhood armor gives the exact same effect. Thanks, Spamer009.

9) "Articulation". Also a Thieves Guild quest. But you will receive the Amulet of Articulation only by restoring all the reputation of the Guild and becoming its head, that is, at the very, very end, and not at the end of the main, "nightingale" quest.

Articulation amulet bug:

This amulet can be worn with other amulets. But you need to wear amulets only in this order: Any amulet / necklace - Amulet of articulation. The reverse order doesn't work.

Summons the spirit of an assassin that fights by your side until defeated.

2) "Arnel's Shadow Call". You get the talent by completing the quest "Arnel Gein's Project" (a very interesting quest, by the way). In the end, his unlucky scientist Arnel Gein decided to follow in the footsteps of the Dwemer tunnel architects, conducted an experiment with the Divider (remember Morrowind) and the soul stone. In the end, he took it and disappeared! And we still have a summoning spell and a Separator.

The spell is in the "Witchcraft" section.

Summons the shadow of Arnel Gein for 60 seconds, at the point the caster points to.

3) "Nightingale Talents". They become available at the end of the nightingale quest of the Thieves Guild.

-"Nightingale Discord".

Drains 100 HP. health from the target. Acts as a cry (flight of a bunch in a straight line).

-"Cloak of Shadows Nocturnal".

You automatically become invisible for 120 seconds when sneaking.

-"Deception (Cunning) Nightingale".

People and creatures in the radius of the spell attack all nearby for 30 seconds.

Blessings of the gods.

I think these effects should be placed here. After all, they are also quite unusual.

Blessings are temporary and last for 7 in-game hours.

The altars of all the gods are in the Temple of the Gods in Solitude.

9) And the most interesting. Blessing of Talos. Talos (Tiber Septim) is the ninth god in the pantheon, the ascended hero of the Empire. The Aldmeri Dominion banned his worship throughout the Empire. That is why his sanctuary is not even in the Temple of the Gods. More precisely, the niche of Talos is empty. But throughout Skyrim are scattered statues of Talos and shrines next to them. For example, such a sanctuary can be found in Riften, not far from the entrance to the Thieves Guild hideout (thanks Flamma

Time between shouts reduced by 0%. Bug? (completed all main quests)

Oh yes, I completely forgot. Windhelm has a temple dedicated to Talos. This is because Windhelm is initially under the control of the Stormcloaks. Whether the temple will be closed if Windhelm is taken over by the Empire, I don't know.

And further. If anyone is interested, then under the spoiler are links to articles about werewolves and vampires.

Take the quest in Riften. At the Temple of Mary.

The quest is given by Diniya Baloo.

The task takes place in THREE stages. During these stages, we must look after the welfare of the lovers.

First, Diniya sends us to Ivarstead. This location opens in the first part of the storyline.

In Ivarstead we must find a girl named Fastrid.

In a conversation, she talks about being in love with a guy. But the parents are against it.

If you have chosen Bassian, then follow the marker to the tavern. We talk with him, explain the position of the mother.

Attention! In this place, the unexpected happened. For some reason, Fastrid ran home, and Bassian, hearing about her mother's decision, runs to her. He breaks into the house, after which the house is closed. Even though this action took place during the day. Had to break open the door, because we need to check. Beware of such a bug, because if the guard notices you, you will have to answer to the fullest extent.

If you chose the side of the father, go to Klimmek.

In my case, Klimmek also ran into the house and locked it from the inside. Had to hack again. I repeat: beware of the moment when Fastrid is inside the house. Better once again sleep in a tavern or wait, because the door may not open by itself.

After we have taken care of the fate of Fastrid (No matter if she is Klimmek or Bassian), we return to the temple of Mary in Riften.

We speak with Diniya, she sends us to Markarth.

Since Markarth is a real labyrinth, and finding the way to the goal will be problematic even with a marker, here is a map of the city.

We go inside the fortress, guided by the marker, we find Kolselmo.

We talk to him, we say that we are unfamiliar with his beloved. He sends us to Ingvar.

We go along the marker, we find Ingvar.

Cooking 200 gold the price is quite small.

We buy poems from him, go to Falin. She is a jarl's housecarl, so we return to the fortress. (After visiting the fortress, we have the ability to fast travel).

We go to Falin, we give her poems.

She gives us a note. We go to Kolselmo and give him this note. Then we follow him and observe a declaration of love.

We return back to Riften, we receive the following task from Dinia.

She gives us Mary's amulet.

We dress him.

Diniya sends us to the reunion of long-lost lovers.

Our target is at Gjukar's Monument, but if you haven't unlocked that location yet, it might be easier for you to get there from Rorikstead.

If the locations are not open at all, you will have to walk along the marker.

We find a ghost girl named Rukki near the Monument.

There are several quests in Skyrim, by completing which we get permanent effects. I decided to write about a few of them.

1) The quest is called "From the Depths". It can be taken in the port of Riften from an Argonian named From the Deepest. She will ask you to take a certain Dwemer dictionary back to the ruins.
For completing this quest, you get the permanent effect "Dwemer Knowledge", which increases the class of Dwemer armor by 25%, and the skill of blacksmithing grows 15% faster.

2) Murder in Frost Lighthouse. It’s even difficult to call it a quest, since it is NOT displayed in the quest log, but an inscription pops up about what needs to be done. Even after the passage does not remain recorded in the passed. This quest can be started by going to the Frost Beacon. It is located almost exactly in the middle between Dawnstar and Winterhold, or a little bit southwest of Hob's Cave. In this quest, we have to find out the cause of death of the owners of the lighthouse. Scattered throughout the lighthouse are the diaries of the townsfolk from which you can deduct very touching story.
For completing this quest, you will receive a permanent effect "Sailor's Rest", which increases the effectiveness of healing spells by 10%.

3) Stones of Barenziah, you can find out how to get this quest by clicking on the link to the quest on our website.
For completing this quest, you get a bonus in the form of a perk for finding expensive stones in chests.

4) Scarlet Roots of Nirn, how to get this quest, you can find out by clicking on the link for passing the quest on our website.
For completing this quest, you will receive the permanent effect "Sinderion's Surprise", which allows you to create a second of the same potion at a time with a 25% chance.

5) Serving Mara - the Goddess of love. This quest is probably the most peaceful in all of Skyrim. To start the quest, just talk to one of the priests in the temple of Mara in Riften. They will assign you to help 3 lovers.
For completing this quest, you will receive a permanent effect "Mara's Chosen", which increases your magic resistance by 15. (WARNING!!! This may only have happened to me, but if you play as a Breton (ku) this effect can REPLACE your native magic resistance by 25%)

6) Serving Dibella - Goddess of beauty. To start this quest, you need to talk to the beggar in Markarth, he will ask you to steal the figurine of Dibella from the temple, but don't be in such a hurry, the quest can be completed in two ways. The first for real thieves))) steal the figurine and give it back, but then you will not get that treasured permanent effect. The second way is to catch the eye of the servants, or if you are a professional thief or assassin, to be intentionally noticed, then the very part of the quest that we need will begin. In this part of the quest, they will tell us that we once made our way here and we should have been killed, but we will be more useful alive, and they will entrust the task.
For completing this quest, you will receive the permanent effect "Dibella's Chosen", which increases the damage you deal to the opposite sex.
