FOREWORD

Mathematical dictations are a well-known form of knowledge control. They are used in my lessons once a week, thereby trying to diversify teaching methods. Dictations do not include a specific topic. I called them “Dictations - vinaigrettes”, i.e. they contain examples, rules, formulas from various topics that must be written down or answered orally at any time and in any lesson. Such dictations can be composed of 7-10 questions. It depends on the performance of the class. You can spend them instead of an oral account. After the next check of the dictation, if the teacher sees that the majority of students do not answer this or that question well, then it can be repeated in another dictation.

Students will learn to listen to the teacher, who changes intonation during the dictation. The auditory channel of information, as well as the visual one, occupies one of the first places. Therefore, our students need to develop it.

Such types of dictations can be made from grade 1 to grade 11. Believe me, the result will be. It is very difficult for a teacher to conduct dictations in two versions, since it is necessary to read the text of assignments at a certain pace, follow the class, answer the inevitable questions of students: “repeat”, “my pen does not write”, etc.

Each question is read three times:

  • students listen;
  • write an answer to a question;
  • check what they wrote.

At the end of the dictation, I collect the sheets (single leaf) on which the work was done and at the next lesson I announce the result. We understand errors. It is possible, if the time of the lesson allows, to show the answers on the interactive whiteboard. In this case, at the beginning of the dictation, the students are warned that corrections in the dictation are not allowed. Such a check of the dictation allows you to immediately discuss those issues that caused difficulties or will allow you to better learn the lesson material. The dictation tests not the intelligence of the students, but their knowledge. If in the dictation it is required to make a drawing when answering, then it is allowed to draw it by hand with a pen.

But you still need to take into account that with the help of such dictations, students will learn the mandatory minimum of knowledge, but an in-depth check cannot be organized. In mathematical dictations, control can only be carried out on the final result.

If there are any comments, you can write to the mail [email protected]

I wish you success!
